Maker's Mark Cellar Aged
Traditional Start: The whiskey spends its first six to seven years aging in standard outdoor rickhouses.
Limestone Cellar: Barrels are then moved into a cool, underground limestone cellar for extra years of aging.
Slower Aging: The cold air in the cellar slows down the wood interaction. This prevents the whiskey from becoming too bitter or heavily oaked while adding deep flavor.
Nose: Scents of toffee, caramel, dark fruit, and toasted oak.
Palate: Rich tastes of creamy fudge, vanilla, baking spices, and brown sugar.
Finish: Warm and long with lasting spice and sweet oak.
