BORN IN APRIL 1969, THE LAST DROP’S RELEASE NO. 38 IS THE SPIRITED, sociable younger sibling to our illustrious Release No. 36. A classic second child, it brings its own distinct personality to the family. From the moment it was sealed in three ex-sherry butts and refill sherry hogsheads, the youngest from 1969, this whisky’s journey has been marked by an independent streak. Carefully married and refilled in 2022 into a fresh ex-Matusalem sherry cask, it exhibits a unique interplay of flavours. Over the years its golden amber hue has deepened, its bouquet has blossomed — the gentle warmth and promise of spring captured in all its complexity. This whisky is a classic Taurus, through and through. Loyal and patient, it is characterised by an inclination towards indulgence, comfort and luxury.
